Responsibilities

Decontamination: Clean, disinfect, and sterilize surgical instruments, trays, and linen using manual and automated methods (ultrasonic cleaners, washer-decontaminators).
Assembly and Packaging: Inspect instruments for damage, assemble surgical trays, and package items properly for sterilization.
Sterilization Operation: Operate sterilization equipment such as autoclaves, Steam Sterilizers, and ETO (Ethylene Oxide) machines.
Quality Control & Documentation: Monitor sterilization cycles, perform biological and chemical testing, and maintain accurate logs for tracking and compliance.
Inventory Management: Manage, store, and distribute sterile supplies to operating rooms and other departments.
Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to infection control policies, safety health regulations, and hospital protocols.

Skills and Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent; certification in Sterile Processing or related CSSD training is usually required.
Knowledge: Understanding of sterilization techniques, medical terminology, and surgical instruments.
Attention to Detail: High precision in inspecting and cleaning instruments to prevent infections.
