Job Description:
Responsibilities
Cable Installation: Laying and routing cables through cable trays, conduits, and wall spaces using standard networking practices.
Termination & Splicing: Preparing, terminating, and splicing copper (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A) and fiber optic (Single-mode, Multi-mode) lines.
Testing & Troubleshooting: Utilizing specialized tools like Optical Time Domain Reflectometers (OTDRs) and cable certifiers to test systems, verify bandwidth capacity, and fix connection faults.
Rack & Patch Panel Management: Organizing patch panels, switches, and server racks in Telecommunication Rooms (TRs) and Main Distribution Frames (MDFs) to ensure networks are clean and scalable.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Industry Standards: A strong understanding of structural guidelines set by ANSI/TIA-568 and ISO/IEC 11801.
Physical Capability: The ability to work from various heights, lift heavy equipment, and often work in confined spaces.
Blueprint Reading: Capability to read network diagrams, floor plans, and architectural layouts.
