Job Description:

• Gate Operations & Security:
  • Access Control: Verify identification, check appointments, and issue visitor badges or gate passes to drivers.
  • Traffic Management: Direct traffic flow within the yard to prevent obstructions on adjacent streets.
  • Security Monitoring: Monitor CCTV cameras and log all vehicle and pedestrian traffic.
• Inspections & Audits:
  • Equipment Checks: Inspect trailers, chassis, and containers for physical damage before entry or exit.
  • Verification: Verify seal numbers on shipments and conduct trailer audits.
• Administrative & Data Entry:
  • Documentation: Prepare necessary permits, documentation for personnel authorisation, and maintain accurate digital logs.
  • Communication: Relay information between truck drivers, customers, and terminal staff. 
     

• Education: Usually requires a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word is standard.
• Soft Skills: Attention to detail, ability to stay calm under pressure, and strong problem-solving skills for handling customer queries.
• Physical Demands: Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and flexibility for night, weekend, or holiday shifts.
