Responsibilities
Diagnose faults using digital scanners, multimeters, and circuit testers.
Repair or replace damaged wiring, fuses, lights, switches, and ignition parts.
Install new equipment like alarms, audio systems, air conditioning, and batteries.
Test repaired systems to make sure the vehicle runs safely and properly.
Write cost estimates and explain repair options to customers.
Required Skills and Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent, plus a technical certificate or trade qualification in auto mechanics or electrical systems.
Strong knowledge of vehicle computers, circuits, and wiring diagrams.
Problem-solving skills to find hidden electrical bugs.
Safety focus when working with live power, batteries, and heavy tools.
Good communication to talk clearly with vehicle owners and coworkers.
