Job Description:
Key Responsibilities
Drive and Deliver: Transport heavy loads safely to destinations on schedule.
Inspect Vehicles: Check tires, brakes, fluid levels, and mechanical systems before and after trips.
Plan Routes: Use GPS systems and maps to choose the best and safest routes.
Manage Cargo: Supervise or assist with loading, unloading, and securing freight.
Maintain Records: Keep accurate activity logs, fuel receipts, and delivery paperwork.
Report Issues: Notify dispatchers or maintenance teams about road incidents, delays, or mechanical defects.
Requirements and Qualifications
Valid License: Hold a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or heavy vehicle permit for the specific truck class.
Clean Record: Maintain a safe driving history with no major traffic violations.
Experience: Show proven experience operating large commercial or heavy-haul trucks.
Physical Fitness: Be able to sit for long hours, handle strenuous tasks, and lift heavy items when required.
Safety Knowledge: Follow all local traffic laws, weight limits, and workplace safety rules.
