Job Description:
Responsibilities
- Equipment Operation: Safely drive, maneuver, and operate specialized landscaping equipment such as backhoes, skid steers, trenchers, excavators, and commercial mowers.
- Site Preparation: Clear, grade, level, and excavate land in preparation for lawns, pathways, retaining walls, and planting areas.
- Material Handling: Load, unload, and transport heavy landscaping materials (e.g., gravel, topsoil, mulch, and heavy plants) using heavy machinery.
- Machine Maintenance: Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections, basic servicing (e.g., checking fluid levels, greasing, cleaning), and minor troubleshooting to prevent equipment downtime.
- Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all health and safety regulations (such as OSHA guidelines), including identifying overhead/underground obstructions and wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, crew leaders, and other team members to follow project blueprints and complete jobs on schedule.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: Proven hands-on experience operating heavy and light machinery, typically within a landscaping, construction, or agricultural setting.
- Licensing: Valid driver's license (often a Commercial Driver's License or CDL is required for towing large equipment) and a clean driving record.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to perform heavy physical labor in various weather conditions, including lifting heavy loads
