Job Description:

Responsibilities
  • Installation & Assembly: Assembling, aligning, and installing new machinery and structural components according to blueprints and technical specifications.
  • Maintenance & Repair: Performing preventative maintenance, diagnosing malfunctions, and repairing or replacing worn/broken parts (e.g., pumps, conveyors, gearboxes).
  • Fabrication & Fitting: Using hand tools (files, grinders) and power tools to shape and adjust metal parts for a precise fit.
  • Troubleshooting: Analyzing mechanical failures in hydraulic, pneumatic, or mechanical systems to restore operational efficiency.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhering to strict safety protocols (PPE, lockout/tagout) and keeping work areas clean. 
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of engineering drawings, blueprints, and mechanical systems.
  • Tool Proficiency: Expertise in using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers) and tools like drill presses, grinders, and cutting torches.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to work in demanding industrial environments, lifting heavy equipment, and working at heights or in confined spaces.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to diagnose complex mechanical issues under pressure.
  • Education/Certification: Typically requires a completed apprenticeship, technical diploma, or relevant trade certificate in mechanical engineering.
